Look what I woke up to this morning...............
and poison oak too!
the view driving into town
the view looking back towards home.............
Today I met my new best friend named Jeanne White of Siskiyou Clinic of Oriental Medicine, and why do you ask? Because she stuck a bunch of needles in me and I almost feel like my knee is getting back to normal. Only some of you know about my wonderful arthritis, that limits movements in my right leg. Well I think after a few weeks, I will be a new gal! She is also going to help me with my arthritic thumb and hot flashes! Let's hear it for Jeanne!!!!!
Weighed in today and I'm down 16 1/2 lbs! I am almost to the big 2-0, and then I can start on my next goal.

I was getting ready to put away some of my completed pages and guess what.........I remembered why I still have them piled up - no room in my albums. I need new albums. I haven't been sticking with one particular album, any of you scrapbookers have any suggestions? I'm sure there will be a sale at No Bare Pages this weekend for National Scrapbook Day and I will need to stock up, anyway here's a peek at some of my completed pages.

Nest alert: There are 3 eggs in the nest as of this a.m.

Our neighbors Pat and Willie tied the knot in Asheville, North Carolina a few weeks ago and our other neighbors, Nan and Paul threw a really nice reception for them in their house. The weather was picture perfect on Saturday and there were a lot of people there to celebrate their nuptials, although they've been together quite a while. Great food and my favorite black and white cake from Market of Choice. Many people bought wine, since Pat and Willie are wino's and I've never seen so much wine for one party! Congrats to Pat and Willie!
Notice those tall bushes in the back---more poison oak! It's everywhere! Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do with poison oak, like maybe it can be a cure for something (ha)?

It's getting better...............the 2 top pictures are areas on the property that I have been working on. I'm done for now because the poison oak sure is popping! I'm trying to save a few of the oaks on the property that have been taken over with poison oak. It's a lot of back breaking work and I'm as done as poor Shadow in the next picture. He loves our little work outings. He hangs out with me and takes little walks and chases creatures. After one of his chases he came back looking like this, actually he is cleaned up a bit. I wasn't ready to head up the hill and he wouldn't leave me, poor guy he was so worn out! Well, we were both a sight trying to walk up the hill, but finally Pete came down with the ATV and saved me. Now, Pete needs to go back and cut down those skinny little oaks, etc. I'm done, needless to say it was a simple dinner (my turn to cook on the weekends).
Nest update: There is one egg!

My grammy has all her pictures at work and can't post today so now it's my turn.........I'm tired of hearing about Shadow all the time, Shadow this, Shadow that. I love Shadow (hee-hee), I LOVE to torture him. I wait around corners and I hide so that I can bounce on him and give him the ole 1,2 (you know slap, slap). He's such a woose! Once in a while I try to lay next to him so that we can "play" but he'll jump up and leave the room. Sometimes I really want to play, but he doesn't know it, he'll give grammy "that look", you know, "mom she's looking at me!" He's always scared that I'm going to hurt him, come on Shadow be a man! If I see him standing at the door I will tell Grammy that he's waiting and wants to come in, you see I can be nice. I do know that if anything, Shadow would protect me, or is that the other way around???? Well, I have to go now I see a couple of birds zipping around on the porch and man do I love birds (hee-hee)!

Life in the country................sometimes Shadow is an inch taller than normal with the mud accumulation (just kidding) but it seems like it. We love him no matter what but he gets a foot bath before he comes in because with mud like that we have to soak his feet.

My birds are back. It doesn't matter what I put by the front door they will make a nest, oh wait I'll take that back, I bought a basket for the wall that I thought they could easily make a nest in and they didn't like it. They made their nest on the fan that year. Which was not a good idea. When the wind would kick up it would spin, well lo and behold one day I was trying to figure out what was on the porch floor and realized it was the nest, broken eggs and a baby was stuck between the floor boards. I was screaming in a panic and had Pete run and get the ladder to put the nest and the baby back up. Yes, the baby survived. This year I didn't take my Valentine's Day decoration off (it's a heart/generic) and they managed to get in and make their nest.

Look for future baby pictures........

Today marks the 25th anniversary of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" for all you fans out there.

How could you not love a face like that? Every morning Shadow wakes up and we go to the pantry. He has his vitamin, glucosomine, and a C.E.T. hextra chew (for his teeth) and breakfast. After that he is off to chase squirrels, moles and whatever else is running around the property. When I leave to go to work this is pretty much what he looks like. Either there wasn't anything running around or he was already tired. He usually is hanging out on the porch hiding behind the railing stalking out his prey or under his favorite tree, where he has a great view of the property. Today he was literally hanging out, he didn't move an inch when I told him good-bye, love you. His feet are even clean, what's up with that!

Tuesday, April 22

This is the way I like to start off my morning...........with a latte, in bed, of course and most of the time Pete brings it to me!

The second photo is Lizzie aka Cha-Cha and the Lizanator. Some mornings she does like to cuddle and get warmed up on my lap or chest. She also loves the latte foam (no I don't let her drink out of my cup, I stick my finger in the foam and give it to her).

DF Laura Plunk got tickets for us to see "The Great American Trailer Park" musical at the Oregon Stage Works and was it FUNNY! Really cute. It was the first time I've been to that theater, very small, reminded of an off-broadway theater. We started the night off by eating at Dragonfly, and that was very yummy!
Yes, Winter wants to linger on in the Rogue Valley. Went shopping on Saturday and on my way home it was getting very cloudy. Around 4:30ish the snow started to fall and fall! The very bright pictures on the bottom are pictures I took around 8pm. Not very sharp but kinda cool looking.
Today the weather is cool and definetly Winter like, it seems like I have to keep putting those sandals back in my closet!!!

Sunday, April 20

For some reason I cannot access everything at home that I can at work so you will have to wait until tomorrow for my surprise photos! Hint: Spring, Winter, Spring, Winter, which one is it?

Friday, April 18

Inquiring minds want to know "what is Pete up to these days"..............well here it is. He has started on the back landscaping walls. Between that, GOLF, and playing "Mr. Mom" he's busier now than ever.

Thursday, April 17

What a great morning. I found a pair of Liz Claiborne pants I bought ages ago (tags and all still on) and I knew they had to fit! I was so excited because I loved them when I bought them but they were too tight to wear. Well, baby look at me now. They fit and kinda loose so don't know how much wear I will get out of them.
