Rocky
My cell phone rings while I'm at work (let me backup, I usually don't answer my cell phone at work).
It's Rocky, hmmm, he must need something.
"Mom, I'm trying to buy a pair of pants and I'm not sure, I'm going to send you a photo on Facebook, get into Facebook, let me know".
"Okay, Rocky, I'll check now", (meanwhile, I've been busy at work).
In the interim, he said to check out Ted Delange (Clockwork Orange character) on the internet. I did, so I knew what he was going for.
He sends me the photo.
"Looks good Rocky, but a little large, what size is that"
Rocky, " size 40"
Me, "that's a little too big, you want something that fits, his pants are fitted, no pleats"
Rocky, "okay, be on the lookout for more photos"
Next, he proceeds to send me 2 photos of him wearing the pants (isn't technology great, he was taking the photos himself).
Me, "okay, Rocky those look great"
Rocky, "which one"
Me, "they both look the same, it's a toss up, pick the cheapest"
Rocky, "K"
Rocky is in the midst of building his Halloween costume, hoping a party comes up (ha). In his defense, his buds are getting dressed too. He's been hitting the Goodwill. When he lived at home, I would always tell him to go to the Goodwill to find that kind of stuff, now that he's a college student and on a budget, he is looking for "deals". Good to know that I taught him well. He's been great with his budget and watches his pennies.
He's doing well, busy with schoolwork, says he's a little homesick but dealing with it (Skpe helps a lot)
I am going up with bff Marie next week. Bff Marie is coming for a visit and wants to see Rocky so we're driving up. I'll be taking him shopping, of course, and we'll get there in time to pick him up from school and take him to a nice lunch.
Can't wait to see my boy.

The kids
(excuse the messy bed, this was while I was getting ready for work)
Last night, Pete said to me "I guess I might as well call them the kids, since they are the kids now".
Lots of this going on now. Someone (Lizzy) is missing her dad; so much she hangs out and sleeps with us (includes Annie)!
Only problem is she likes to sleep on my side right next to my pillow, the side I sleep on the most. Last night I brought in her bed from the garage to my bedroom, in hopes that she would sleep in it! She sniffed it and proceeded to come up next to me. I picked her up and tried to stick her in the bed; she took off. A short while later I was snuggled in and here she comes walking on top of the headboard (she starts on Pete's side and walks over to me) trying to get into my space but I took it completely over! What to do, hmmmmm? I guess I'll have to sleep between grandma and grandpa, which is what she did. Pete didn't have a clue as to what was going on; he was sleeping.
I'm still hoping that she'll sleep in her bed, but I know she's looking for warmth.
One good thing, when Rocky comes home we won't see her.

Landscaping, part 3
Can't seem to get this bed right. Pulling out my daffies and re-doing.
The slope! Finally getting some St. John's Wort, hoping for it to take over!
Pete, hard at work

Has anyone ever been plagued by "pantry bugs"?
Ugh!
We have been plagued for the past few weeks. Pete has the shop vac living in the pantry so he can vacuum them up a zillion times a day. I've researched on the internet and bought the traps but that does not solve the problem. I've asked Pete to go through everything, dump and WASH containers out. I think he feels if it has a twist tie or a clip it's fine, wrong. As I've been taking off clips I find they're in the clips (!) so I've been washing those out! I've gotten more involved and hopefully we'll nip this in the bud.
If you've had this problem could you please contact me and let me know how you handled it. It is soooo annoying I can't really explain it!

(r. Eileen, l. Annie)
My dear friend Annie lost her hubby, last week. I can't believe I don't have a photo of John or John and Anni together!
John had diabetes, and in the last 10 years lost both of his legs (knee down). It's a terrible disease that will reek havoc on your internal organs.
John would have been 80 in January......... he was a bit older than Anni. When I saw them last October he was doing quite well, still his 'ol h ornery self, zipping around the house in his wheelchair, entertaining Anita and I.
He will be missed and my dear friend Anni will now start a new chapter in her life......

Sock Bun
If you want to get up in the morning and not have to mess with your hair and you want it to look beautiful.........this is for you!
I've shared this info with a few of you via email but I will now share here!
Sorry, only people with long hair will LOVE this. I'm not sure I even qualify, but I'm going to try it and see if it works.
The video is a little long but you can speed it up........Sock

wedding anniversary
Yup, it's been 28 years today..................Happy Anniversary Mr. La Pierre!
(I look at this photo and I have to say...........I still love that dress - lol)!
Friday, October 7
I usually have my mammogram done in September, but it was rescheduled by the hospital to October 6th. Little did I know in the month of October they give you a gift! I had a choice between 2 items and this is what I chose
Remember, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.
On October 21st, The Human Bean does their annual fundraiser, all day, so try to stop by and support this great fundraiser!
Thursday, October 6
(Jason and Bill have left, and Sharon (blonde) leaving to Seattle Oct. 14th).
A few things going on and not much into blogging. I guess sometimes I just don't know what to write about!
Been down in the dumps about my job. Not sure which direction it would go, but knowing that something was going to happen..............and it did.
I've worked as a Receptionist in the Camps Building for Marketing and Development, always doing a little more work for Development. Development moved to another building and I remained behind :(
I knew in the long run that the Marketing Director would not want me and I was right! I was trimmed right out of the budget BUT the new Development director wanted me - yeh (thank you Nancy)!
So, I will be moving to the Development offices effective November 1st. Working my old hours 12-5, M-F, with hopes of more hours as the job evolves because in reality, they are creating a job for me (bless them)!
Happy, I'm not going to be a receptionist anymore!
Happy, I still have a job!
Happy, I will be working in the Administration building where I have a few friends!
Happy to be working with Development again!
That is the latest and the greatest!

The Wall - Part Deux
Saturday was spent cleaning, raking up weeds, and rocks; pretty much prepping the bed.
We finished up a little early so we could make the 5:40 pm show of "Moneyball", the new Brad Pitt movie based on a true story, well worth seeing.
Sunday morning we were up and back at it! Pete definitely was the winner, he could
dig holes pretty fast. The plants are all in. All we have left is mulch, which I hope to order this week and get in next weekend.
In the interim, I relocated 2 plants (hope they are happier and make me happy) and I planted 2 plants in a container.
Still left.......bulbs! Also, have a couple of plants I want to relocate.

Woodman
Been asking Mr. La Pierre to buy wood!
He finally got busy and made many calls but didn't get any calls back.
Finally, someone called him back that he didn't originally call but they heard from someone else that he was in need of a cord of wood!
Next day we had our wood delivered and as of Friday, Pete piled it into the nifty shed he made (in photo).
Now we're ready for Winter!
