We stopped at Trinity Alps to get ice a couple of times and boy, what a nice resort with cabins, store, etc.

Shadow even swam! He's not really much of a retriever when it comes to that.

This was our side of the lake that's why Tim transported us to another spot, not so much mud!

Pete and Tim

Okay, got dizzy watching Rachel Rae walking back and forth chasing her shadow!

Couldn't camp without it!

My tootsies!

Geez, what a motley crew; Pete, Tim and Laurie

Pete dunking Rocky

Rock laz-ing along

Tim caught a couple of fish every morning.
A great weekend camping, we had so much food it wasn't funny, we could have stayed out there another couple of days. To boot, I baked caramel brownies, and my chocolate chip craisin cookies. Laurie baked the best german chocolate brownies...........yum, need that recipe, girl!
A great weekend and we can't wait to go again!

These wild dogwood trees grow everywhere in this area.
Horseshoes anyone?

Laurie making some good eats!

The view from where Tim parked us and the boat.

The Lake is low.

What a motley crew (the dogs look excited-lol)!

Our campsite.
Boy, oh, boy did we luck out! I reserved at this campground, sites unseen and we got the two best sites together. The campgound is called Tannery Glutch and it was about a 2 and 1/2 hour drive, but a very pretty drive through Scott's Valley and high up in the mountains, (thank god for Dramamine). The spots in this little cul-de-sac were private and quiet, when you went into the other side of the campground it was CROWDED and oh, so loud! When I reserved on-line I asked for the best sites and I got them!!!!! Tim and Laurie had a longer ride and thank god it was worth it for them, they loved it.
(Tomorrow I will upload the Lake photos, etc.)

Happy Memorial Day!!!!!!!

Friday, May 22

Yippee, we are on our way to a great weekend of camping fun with the Hines' (bro&sis-in law) and Pete's stepmom, Linda. We are going somewhere outside of Weaverville, CA near Trinity Lake or maybe on Trinity Lake (more info to come next week). All I know is I haven't been on a relaxing camping trip in a while. I've baked and prepared lots of goodies for the weekend and plan on relaxing, maybe napping and reading, yeah lots of nothing! Oh, we play lots of games too. Shadow is coming with and our friend Bob is taking care of Lizzie.
I'll give you the 411 when we return, have a great weekend!

It has been a while since I've posted photos of my dear great nieces, partly because I haven't gotten any photos. My dear (x) sis-in law, Nora has been sending me photos (bless her). I know that Brandon's wife, Jennifer is busy with 4 kids, a puppy and working (whew, I'm tired) and I don't expect her to be sending photos all the time like she did when Trin was a baby so I'm grateful for whatever I get. The only photos I get of Sofia are from Jennifer and now Nora so I will have a big gap in her scrapbook.
I still miss my nephews. It's been 27 years since I left NY, wow does time fly.

Who's a handsome guy.............Pete thought this was funny so here it is. He had it on for quite some time with out it falling off .
(this one is for Laurie and Tim)

Tuesday, May 19

Of all places............and on top of a dirty towel that I used to clean Shadow's feet! (This is on the back porch). We have a hook that holds our wood bag and occasionally I throw a towel up there and now a nest.............I changed out what I put on the wall by the front door with a great basket that I thought would make a great nest, but no, they don't like it!!!!! The basket is empty and this is the alternative. There are now 5 eggs in it! It just amazes me that with all the birdhouses hanging in the backyard they pick this.
On the other hand some wrens took over the swallows nest out in the back by the garage where they usually nest and now the swallows are going nuts...........isn't nature great.

Sunday, May 17

at work
at work

The next 2 are taken driving up the road to the house.
Spring is definitely in the air and the vetch is starting to take over. It is soooo green and I couldn't help taking a couple of photos.

Friday, May 15

Today starts the Ashland sidewalk sale (through the weekend). So come out and make Ashland "green".

Thursday, May 14

Wednesday was my close-out day at the physical therapist, she poked and prodded and took measurements, yes measurements and I showed her I could sit "indian style" (no disrespect to anyone), something I can't remember doing in many years. I am happy to report I am cane-free and walking on my own. I have exercises I have to continue at home. I still have a section on my thigh that is STILL numb, which hopefully will go away with time (we'll see). Occasionally, when I get up I'm stiff and want to limp but restrain myself for the couple of minutes it takes to "walk it off". All in all my physical therapist was happy with my progress and I think I'm doing okay for 3 months. Next weekend we will be going camping and I can't wait.

Wednesday, May 13

Just wanted to share my view............woof! The shot mom took with my (very handsome, if I do say so) profile is off to the left of the porch or actually where I tend to lay most, under a very nice tree. The second photo is the view I have straight down the road and to the lower left side where I can see all those squirrels running whenever mom and dad drive down the road. Sure do love chasing those guys! And now I love chasing the new jackrabbits (that's what mom and dad call them) that are hanging around our property, boy those guys are fast and I can't seem to catch them like the squirrels but I sure love trying! Got to go, I see one now!!!!!!

Tuesday, May 12

Coming off the back porch to the front........
Coming around to the driveway

Leading off front porch and flagstone path...to back and tieing around to the driveway.

Going around..................

As you drive up to front of house, path to the right and ties in and around to the back.
Well, Pete informed me that he is working on 300 ft. of paths and he should be done this week! After that he will be ordering the mulch and getting all the beds done! Yikes! A lot of back-breaking work.

Monday, May 11

This is the best he could do, was not in a smiling mood.

Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day, I did..............

The guys (Pete and Rocky) took me to "Morning Glory", my fav and a fav of mine to take guests. As you can imagine, it was a long wait, since seating is so limited. We put our names on the list and ran to Walmart and when we got back waited around 20 minutes longer. I had them make me a 2 egg omelet instead of the usual: giant. As you can see Rocky's plate is really a serving platter and half was an omelet and the other half was hash browns. I did splurge and get the blueberry muffin (comes with) instead of toast, because it's fresh, fresh! After breakfast we headed off to The Ashland Street Cinemas because we couldn't wait to see Star Trek and so glad we did because it was great!!!!

After the movie we went home and I continued the project I started on Saturday...............weeding. Have to get the planters weeded before the mulch arrives which should be right after Pete finishes the paths (check out tomorrow's entry). Pete made dinner and we had a quiet evening; a very nice day and weekend. Hope everyone enjoyed their day.
