This weekend..........planned a "home visit" for a potential foster home (she passed), a dog evaluation for someone possibly giving up a wonderful (supposedly 13 years old) dog named Rosie, home to do laundry and go see "Avatar" at 3:30pm. We got to the theater at 3:00 and the 3:30 show and the next 2-3 shows were sold out! We bought tickets for the first show on Monday at noon.
I was planning on staying in Sunday and Monday to work on "the chairs", remember the ones I'm going to recover? Sunday I spent pulling staples. I discovered if I used my heat embossing gun that would melt the glue and make it easier. I now have one chair completely ready to paint and the other started. I just need one more day and I possibly could have the staples out and paint the chairs! I figure I have 3 more days of work on them, I hope I have them done by this Summer!
Monday a.m. pretty much was......... have a big breakfast and out the door to Medford. We got to the theater by 11:20 a.m. and just
made it, as far as finding seats together! TG, if not we'd probably wouldn't have made it because I can't sit up that close, especially 3D. I took a motion pill before we got there, just in case!

don't walk to the theater. I was totally BLOWN away! It was absolutely incredible!!!!!!!!!
Back to Rosie. The woman's "x" is selling the house and she is moving up to Corvallis to a 55+ community and can't have a dog over 50 lbs. She really does not want to get rid of her. First, she can't be 13 she is in such great shape. Eyes are clear, she runs to the backyard up and down the couple of steps. She is good with people, kids, cats, etc. The woman is going to try everything not to give her up and will call us if she fails. I would love to foster her but I'm not sure that Pete would want to. You see when you foster a senior dog sometimes they are not adopted and the foster family is the last family for them, Pete would have a hard time with her possible short life. Don't get me wrong, I would too but I know that the last couple of years she has left I would make them really great for her.
The kicker is I did a home visit for this woman around 5 years ago and recommended we not give her a dog. Of course she found a dog. She was a little flaky (the woman) and her fencing had holes so, her old dog would get out and roam the neighborhood. Guess what, the fence was still the same and Rosie was doing the same thing! I was hoping she wouldn't remember me but she did - lol. I give my recommendations to the Rescue and we are required to say whether we would put "our" own dog in the home, I said most definitely not!
I love helping the Rescue out but I go home and can't stop thinking about these poor dogs. I wish I could bring them all home!
We'll see what happens. Unfortunately the gal that wants to foster doesn't want a senior because she knows that she'll have the dog for a long time. Her mom fosters up in the Portland area and she also wants to help out down here. She'd make a great foster, so I'm giving her a "thumbs up"!
