I've been feeling kinda poopie lately so.........
Dad took me to the Vet yesterday afternoon, cuz Mom was real worried about my running outside a few times in the middle of the night (and day). My tummy was just not right. After Mom gave the vet
a full report on the phone of my bowel movements she was a little puzzled so she did some bloodwork. All my bloodwork was good. She said the only thing that bothered her was that I wasn't perky (as you can see from my photo). She sent us home with some pills, and packets to put in my food for a month to help with my digestive system. I was sooo hungry when I got home but I wasn't allowed to eat, boy was I happy when Mom gave me something new this morning, I don't know what it * was but I ate the whole bowl! I think I'm on my way to feeling better today and hopefully I'll let Mom sleep all night.
(*note from mom, it was rice, recommended by the vet)

It says it's 108 but that has to be in Medford, ugh!

Last night we actually slept with the air conditioning on, something we haven't done in about 3 years! I almost feel like I'm back in Vegas, except it's prettier here!

Shadow ate yesterday's breakfast this morning so I think his tummy is feeling better and TG I got to sleep all night!

Keep cool everyone!!!

Can you say "perfect"?
The weather was perfect up in Howard Prairie and dear Pete found the "perfect" camp site in the trees on the lake!!! We had a little path that lead us right out to the lake. Too bad we couldn't stay another day.
I was testing a Bobby Flay chicken marinade for Pete's b-day party. Looks like this one will be it, just have to tweak it a little.
The guys floated around on the raft and I did my favorite thing, laid out on the lounger, reading "Hard Eight" and drinking Mike's. Had a umbrella for shade, in case I needed it and for Shadow.
Poor Shadow was sick, don't know what he picked up over there. I was up with him at 12:00am, 3:ooam, and 5:00am, I 5 I just finally left him out since there was some daylight, just can't do it when it's dark and there are "creatures that go bump in the night". When I left at 11:30am he hadn't eaten his breakfast and was laying around kinda mopey, we'll see what awaits me when I get home.
Hoping to get in another weekend at Howard Prairie, maybe before the party but I have a lot of "honey-do's" to get done before the 25th.

A big "thank you" to Lashell for helping out The Golden Bond Rescue. I did an evaluation in Eagle Point on Sunday, July 19th and did not bring Shadow with because it was hot and Pete and I wanted to take advantage of being out there and shopping at the Super Walmart. Found out that the Rescue now requires us to take our dogs with us on evaluations. Since I will be at Howard Prairie this weekend I could not run over and take Shadow for a "meet and greet". In steps Lashell and she's going to take one of her "girls" (4 legged) to do it. I really did not want to put this off until next weekend because that poor baby, Sheba is tethered to the backyard. Small backyard, big puppy (1 1/2 years old, 90 lbs.), no exercise.
Thanks again Lashell!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday Stephanie! I remember when you were in your mom's belly and she was not happy that I was moving to Las Vegas (she pretty much was hating Pete for taking me away from her). Here you are 27 years later, wow, has time flown! It's hard for me to forget how old you are because I remember when I left NY, as hard as it was, but excited about my new adventure.
Hope you have a fabulous day, you deserve it!

Wednesday, July 22

Go to Lashell's blog and leave a comment to get entered into her drawing for a cute kit, make sure you mention my name!
Lashell's blog is on my list on the left.

I looked for a recipe for the cake and in the end picked up a Duncan Hines "Pineapple Supreme" cake mix (at the Eagle Point Super Wallyworld). On the side it gives you the extra's to make into an upside down cake.

Monday, July 20

When was the last time you baked a pineapple upside down cake? Pete seems to think I've never made one since we've been married, but I know I've made one (must have been hubby #1).
In honor of the Janet Evanovich books Pete and I have been reading I made this cake. Her heroine/character/protagonist loves pineapple upside down cakes!
I'm sure there won't be much left after tonight the way those guys were eating it!

Saturday, July 18

I'm full!!!!
Isn't my suitcase cute, it even says NY! BFF Marie sent it to me for my b-day.
GF Cindy (Vegas Babe) sent me this one for my b-day.
(just noticed the snowflake one Cindy sent me is also in the photo)
Well, it's kinda sad but my bracelets are full and I don't want to do a 3rd one. My mom has only bought me 1 bead in the 6 years that I've had them and she just informed me that she bought me 2 beads for Christmas, I hope they're small!

I received my suitcase from Marie with a cute little fold-up shopping bag that I can take to Italy. I've been wanting a suitcase since I bought Anita one for her b-day last year. It is actually a "Camilla" bead. Marie just got a Camilla bracelet for her birthday. Pandora and Camilla are interchangeable. Now I know what I can buy Marie!!!!

Love it, love it, love it!

Thursday, July 16

Absolutely beautiful floral baskets hanging everywhere!

Had to get a granita or smoothie at the end of the day!

Waiting to eat Mexican food (advice don't ever eat there)

Why people want to bring there dogs in the heat I'll never know. There were 6 Great Pyrenees there (with a group). Ck out this cutie.

The path to the Boathouse Restaurant

Suzanne & Julie (sisters), Jana and Mona (Laura's sis)

Home Sweet Home, cabin built in 1925

Couldn't miss the opportunity to take this photo at the end of the day (some businesses close down the day of the show).
At the end of the day when Jana said she wanted to go to "Three Creeks Brewing Company" we said, "no way, no how", until she said "drinks on me"! Went, had a drink, and back to the cabin for more drinks and appetizers, some cards and a movie or two.
(How come they're smiling????)

Wednesday, July 15

Notice the square that has been pieced with folded strips......... Loved the process on this one. This artist actually had a showing last year during last years show.
Isn't this something?
I have to pick this one as my fav! (It was so sunny wish it was a better photo)
I liked the way this was finished............
I hope you can see that this is dimensional (the palms).

This was a photo turned into a painting and then made into a quilt (three different processes)Same process
The deer was embroidered.....

A Sisters we will go, a Sisters we will go, hi-ho, the merrio, a Sisters we will go!!!! We are on our way to The Sisters (I think 34th or 35th) Annual Quilt Show. Audrey, Anita, Laura and I are driving together trying to get there by happy hour at Suttle Lake Lodge. There will be 8 of us staying at one of their cabins which is very close to Sisters. We are sure to have a great weekend and of course...........pictures next week!

Done, and I hope I don't have to use one for a very long time!!!!!

Wednesday, July 8

(why can't I smile as well as these two??????)
Sunday was my 2 play day. Went to see "Shirley Valentine" with the two above, 2 others didn't make it. Tried to go to "Lela's" for lunch (yes, they were closed Anita), so we ended up at "Dragonfly". After the play I went over to OSF to pick up my tickets for "Don Quixote" that evening. Pete, Rocky and I went. It was entertaining but not my favorite version, but after all I saw "Man of La Mancha" on Broadway with Richard Kiley. All in all it was a busy day that started with a huge breakfast that Pete made so lunch was very small for me.

Sunday, July 5

OSF Marching Tomato Band
I made Claudia's little banner for her scooter Thursday night.
LOL
ScienceWorks - I thought this was cool.........

This guy looks familiar.........

Waiting for the parade to start.........
